Thangamma's Thengozhal is made fresh only after you order it. The dough is kneaded by hand to the right texture, pressed through a traditional murukku mould, and fried in clean sunflower oil until it hits that precise golden moment.

Made with Vijay Gold rice flour, farm-sourced urad dal, and real Amul butter (yes, actual butter not a substitute, not a shortcut), pressed through a traditional mould into those signature swirling coils and fried fresh per order. No two batches are identical. That's how you know it's real.

Why does your Thengozhal taste different from the ones I find in shops?

Because it is different. Most commercial Thengozhal uses pre-mixed flour, palm oil, and preservatives to extend shelf life. Ours is made fresh per order with real butter, farm-sourced dal, and zero shortcuts.

How crispy is it, really? I've been disappointed before.

Very. The key is frying fresh — Thengozhal that has been sitting in a packet for weeks goes soft regardless of how well it was made. Ours ships within 48 hours of being made.

Can I eat this if I'm vegetarian?

Yes. 100% vegetarian. No egg, no meat derivatives, no hidden non-vegetarian additives.

What is the shelf life?

120 days from the date of manufacture. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Can you customise the spice level?

The recipe is the recipe — we don't customise individual orders. If you want heat, the Kaaram Chakli or Pakodam will sort you out.
